The human eye

I gave a presentation in my far from perfect Portuguese on Saturday 17 June 2017 at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at the Universidade Nova da Lisboa. The one-day #TransLisbon 2017 event was hosted by the Faculty under the aegis of Aptrad, the Portuguese Association of Translators and Interpreters. The idea behind the event was to examine ways to reinforce the importance of human translators in the world of translation (Como reforçar a importância do tradutor humano na indústria da tradução).  My presentation on the subject of the human eye in the translation process, with slides in Portuguese, but notes written afterwards in English for the benefit of a wider audience, is available here as a PDF download by clicking on the image below:

While the ideas contained in my presentation are certainly not original, and indeed, reference is made to several colleagues during the presentation, the manner in which these ideas has been presented is my own work, and therefore copyrighted. Please respect that if you do reference this material.

  1. Nice presentation with interesting info! Thanks for sharing. Very sorry I didn’t attend the real thing, but I really also wanted to hear the other presentation, going on at the same time… (and was kinda hoping that you’d publish yours ;-))
