It is high time I wrote on this topic. Life is like an avocado tree. It is. Forgive the enormous extrapolation from the very basic idea that my life as I am experiencing it today is like the avocado tree in my garden. Now you can see why the formulation “life is like an avocado tree” is much more convenient and, moreover, readily understood to refer to how I feel about my life. Interesting, isn’t it?
Let us dispense with my life for the moment and contemplate my avocado tree:
When I looked up from the soil I was busy moving from my compost heap, I noticed that this tree is loaded with fruit for the first time in the three years that I have been intuitively nursing it back to health. I am therefore thrilled and delighted with the vision before me!
If I think of each one of my friends as an avocado, then life is indeed like an avocado tree. You will see from this photo that not all the avocados are easily visible. But they are there. Just like my friends, they are not imaginary! They are discreet, and blend in. I can see them; we are in the same space, and that is what matters.
Avos! My favourite!
