Myth aside, the thing about Aphrodite rising from the waves is that she is no different from countless other women who, each in their own time and their own way, have stood, feet planted in the sand, naked and proud, while the waves and winds swirled about; women who felt strong, so mightily strong and alive. Their shout is one of victory, a celebration of their own power as sharply defined as the sea is salt.
It is worth remembering this vision of yourself so wild and free so that when it comes again, and again once more, you see the turbulence is not unusual but deep within, and has always been there.
