Readers of the world unite!
What a far cry this is from the part-time job I had for a while as a university student!
I was a “shelf reader”. This entailed gazing at the rows of books stacked on the shelves of the university library and ensure they were placed there in their correct order according to the Dewey Decimal System.
It was quite the most mind-numbing exercise, yet necessary, for comprehensible access to the treasures contained within the library.
The exciting part of the Open Library initiative is that we now no excuse, except our own human frailty, for reading as much as we possibly can. And, of course, contributing, where appropriate.
I am technically incapable of creating the one-stop access widget. For that, you will have to click on the link to Geroge B’s euzicasa above.
